A NATIVE AMERICAN CHRISTMAS
Greenville, VA.

Native Americans hold a deeply respectful view of animals. So, when a Native American mother of six children found a puppy dumped on her doorstep, she took the young dog into her family’s care. Even though the family was struggling financially, she could not allow one of God’s creatures to go unloved.

But the young puppy got into a chewing contest with a plastic food dish, and became deathly ill. The mother cleaned out their bank account to help the dying dog. But still, it was not enough. She talked to her six children about returning their Christmas presents to raise more money for Bear Billy, as they now called him. And the children gladly did so because they loved this puppy. This brave woman did everything she could to save the life of this young dog. Sadly, Bear Billy died the night after the operation.

The Mosby Foundation was contacted by the attending veterinarian and we pitched in, sending out a special plea for help to which our subscribers graciously responded. The vet bill was paid, the children received Christmas presents, and the family’s two other dogs now have doghouses, treats, and toys. The outpouring of love and caring for a family and their pets was the best Christmas gift anyone could ever receive.

It just goes to show that when you open your heart, the Great Spirit responds in kind.

And so to all of you who support The Mosby Foundation and give so generously throughout the year, it truly does make a difference to so many dogs and so many families. A huge

THANK YOU! You’ve made a family and two dogs extremely happy this holiday season.
