It is with extreme heavy hearts that we update you with the loss of sweet Lyla. Last week, Lyla was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis, a chronic autoimmune neuromuscular disease that causes weakness in the skeletal muscles, which are responsible for breathing and moving parts of the body. Her disease progressed rapidly and was too much for her body to endure. This diagnosis was completely unrelated to her ectrodactyly “split paw” condition that we were all hoping to treat. We are comforted knowing that she was loved tremendously by her mom and grandmother who did everything they could to help better her short life here on earth. Thank you to all that donated to her cause and please know that in Lyla’s honor, it will go to the next pup in need. Go rest peacefully across that rainbow bridge sweet girl.
